I looked back at the resolutions I posted on SNS at the beginning of the year (January 2025) and thought,
\u201cWow\u2026 was this really what I hoped for a year ago?
Did I actually follow through this year?\u201d
Cue my little moment of inner turmoil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But when I finally gathered the courage to open it\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It felt as if my past self had traveled through Doraemon\u2019s time machine to send me the exact words I needed today \u2014
kind, gentle, and full of strength.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The moment I read it, tears came to my eyes.
Mostly because I didn\u2019t remember a single thing I had written (lol).
It felt like the \u201cme\u201d from a year ago was cheering me on,
and my heart warmed instantly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Back then, I was deeply moved by a book I had borrowed from a client,
and I wrote that I wanted to internalize its ideas and become:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSomeone graceful, free, and firmly grounded in my own values.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the workbook, too, I kept writing the phrase \u201ctake it easy\u201d<\/strong>,
promising myself to live more freely without getting trapped in unnecessary worries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the end of the letter, it said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBy the time you read this,
I hope your smile and your presence reflect a graceful, rich life.
Take good care of your health and beauty.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And then\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou\u2019re my favorite person in the whole world! I LOVE ME.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I laughed and cried all at once.
I literally said aloud, \u201cThanks, past me!!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She even slipped in a ginkgo leaf \u2014 such a stylish touch. \u2764\ufe0f<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Writing to your future self is not only about setting goals.
It\u2019s a way to revisit who you were, understand where you are now,
and notice how much you\u2019ve grown.
Even if you forget what you wrote, your subconscious quietly keeps moving forward \u2014
slowly, steadily, like layering sheets of newspaper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This time of year, we all reflect and think,
\u201cWhat kind of year was this for me?\u201d
Thanks to this exercise, I can clearly trace my growth and feel,
\u201cHey, I\u2019m doing pretty well!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
